This Football Dessert Cheeseball is the perfect game day snack!
If you're looking for a simple recipe to please a crowd during football season, you have to try this Football Dessert Cheeseball! Rich, creamy and shaped like a football, this festive dessert dip tastes amazing and pairs well with an assortment of your favorite cookies, crackers, and pretzels. This is one party food that is sure to be a "touchdown" at your next football gathering.
Use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat cream cheese, butter, vanilla, and sugars together until fully combined. For best results, soften the cream cheese before mixing the ingredients together. Soften the cream cheese by thawing at room temperature for 30-60 minutes before using. To speed up the process, unwrap the block and microwave it for 15 seconds.
Once all the ingredients for the cheeseball are combined, it will need to be completely chilled to keep its shape. Line a 6" bowl with plastic wrap, and place the cheeseball mixture in the center. Wrap the mixture completely in the plastic, and shape it into a football. Place the wrapped cheeseball and the bowl into the refrigerator for a few hours (or overnight).
Over-mixing the cream cheese and butter can result in a soft cheeseball that may take longer to firm up. Instead of refrigerating, you can place the cheeseball in the freezer for one hour to help firm up quicker.
Move the coated cheeseball to the serving plate. To complete the football look, add white chocolate chips on top to create the football laces.
Surround the football cheeseball with an assortment of vanilla wafer cookies, graham crackers, chocolate cookies, pretzels, (and so much more) to dip into this tasty dessert!
