Upload the "Who's in This House" design into xTool Creative Space. When you upload an SVG design, you need to make sure each part of the design is set for cutting, scoring, and engraving. When you upload an SVG design, you need to make sure each part of the design is set for cutting, scoring, and/or engraving. For this project, everything in black needs to be cut, green needs to be engraved, and red needs to be scored.
Place a piece of 3mm basswood into the xTool S1 machine. Manually pull the laser box with your hand so that the red "+" is located on the material - it doesn't have to be centered. In XCS, you will see "Distance (mm)" in the right menu bar. Click on the target icon to the right of that space, and the machine will automatically measure your material.

Make sure that the design elements are within the marked bounding box in XCS, and then click the green "Process" button in the bottom right corner to proceed to cutting the project.
After removing the wood pieces from the machine, I would highly recommend cleaning the soot away from around the edges of the wood using a Magic Eraser or baby wipes to prevent making marks all over your hands and workspace.
Start by painting the circle sign board white with either acrylic paint or chalk paint. One coat may not be enough to cover the wood all the way, so just make sure that the first coat is completely dry before adding another layer of paint on top.
While the sign board dries, paint the Who silhouette piece, letters, and snowflakes using acrylic paint or acrylic paint markers. I painted the letters that go on the top half in red and the ones for the bottom in green.
Make sure to fully cover each piece with paint, and if adding multiple coats, always let the first coat dry before adding another.
Apply a small amount of strong adhesive to the back of the Who character piece and the snowflakes. Place them all onto the board, lining the pieces up with the score lines. If necessary, clamp them in place or place something heavy on top (like a book) until the adhesive sets.
Next, use adhesive to put all of the letters into place, lining them up with the score lines and press them into place. Allow the adhesive to fully set.
The Who sign can totally be done at this point, but I thought it would be fun to put it in the center of a wreath to hang on my front door for the holiday season. I found this gorgeous, glittery grapevine wreath form and thought it paired perfectly with the sign.
To add some extra color, I found some sparkly boxwood leaf picks and stuck those into the wreath along with some shimmery red berries. Use hot glue to hold all of the pieces in place.
Lastly, I attached a large festive red and green plaid bow at the top of the wreath with hot glue. I also attached some fishing wire to the back of the sign and tied it to the wreath beneath the bow.
Now that the wreath is complete, it's ready to be put on display! Now everyone who drives by or visits your home knows that you are a Grinch-free family that celebrates Christmas in a way that the town of Whoville would be proud of.
This "There's Some Who's in this House" Wreath is such a fun and festive project to make with the xTool, and I had a lot of fun putting it together! As always, I would love to see what you're making!
