This Sugar Cookie Dip is the perfect party dessert that can be served for any holiday!
If you're looking for a simple dessert recipe to please a crowd this holiday, you HAVE to try this Sugar Cookie Dip! Sweet, creamy, and only 4 ingredients, this festive dessert dip tastes amazing and pairs well with an assortment of your favorite cookies. You can also change out the sprinkles to change it up for any holiday gathering. I am so excited to be sharing this recipe with you, and would love to hear if you make some to share with your own family this Christmas!
To make this decadent Sugar Cookie Dip, you will need these simple ingredients:
- Cream cheese: You can use a block of regular or low fat cream cheese.
- Sugar cookie mix: I prefer to use Betty Crocker sugar cookie mix, but any dry sugar cookie mix will work!
- Cool Whip: This makes the dip light and fluffy! Again, you can use regular or low fat.
- Sprinkles: I would recommend using jimmies instead of nonpareils in this recipe, because the colors are less likely to bleed into the dip.
- Use holiday sprinkles (like Christmas jimmies) for different holiday-themed dips!
*If you want to add additional flavor, you can mix in some vanilla extract.
Combine the cream cheese and dry sugar cookie mix using a hand mixer or stand mixer. It's very important that the cream cheese has been softened, otherwise the dip will be lumpy. You can soften cream cheese by letting it sit at room temperature for 1 hour, or quicken the process by placing the cream cheese in a sealed baggie and submerge in warm water for 15-20 minutes.
Use a rubber spatula to fold in the whipped topping and half of the sprinkles*. Try to whip some air into the mixture while stirring to keep the dip light and fluffy.
*You can omit the sprinkles if you'd like. The dye of nonpareils may bleed into the mixture.
Pour the mixture into a serving bowl and top with additional sprinkles to cover the surface. Refrigerate the dip before serving.
To serve, I like to place the dip bowl in the center of a large serving plate and surround it with an assortment of cookies to eat the dip with. I would recommend using things like fruit, shortbread cookies, graham crackers, chocolate cookies, pretzels, and so much more!
