Halloween Rice Krispie Treats

These no-bake Halloween Rice Krispie Treats are a quick and easy Halloween dessert!!

Halloween Rice Krispie Treats

Rice Krispie treats are undoubtedly one of the easiest desserts out there, and there are so many ways to change it up for the holidays with added ingredients. These Halloween Rice Krispie Treats are packed with fluffy, gooey marshmallows for a chewy texture, and bits of Halloween candy and pretzels for a bit of crunch and a perfectly salty-sweet flavor in every bite. This is a fun and simple no-bake treat that the kids will love to help with to share at your Halloween parties!

Halloween Rice Krispie Treats

To make these scrumptiously spooky Halloween Rice Krispie Treats, you will need to start with a few simple ingredients: butter, Rice Krispies cereal, vanilla, and of course, marshmallows! These optional (but fun) additional ingredients are recommended to make these treats perfect for Halloween: candy corn, pretzels, Halloween M&Ms, green melting wafers, and Halloween sprinkles. You will also need a large saucepan and 9x13 baking dish.

In a large saucepan, melt the butter and then add marshmallows and stir until smooth. Remove pan from heat and add in vanilla. Next, add Rice Krispies cereal, candy corn, pretzels, Halloween M&Ms, and don't forget the Halloween sprinkles!

Stir all of the ingredients together until evenly combined, and then add in extra mini marshmallows. These will make the treats extra chewy and delicious!

Pour the mixture into a 9x13 baking dish lined with parchment paper. For best results, lightly grease the parchment paper with cooking spray. Gently flatten the treats with a rubber spatula, or grease your hands first and then use your fingers.

Melt down the green candy melts, and drizzle it over the top of the treats. While the drizzle is still warm, top the treats with a few more pretzels, candy, and sprinkles!

Let the treats sit on the counter to cool completely, which takes about an hour.

Halloween Rice Krispie Treats

Remove the treats from the baking dish, and cut them into 12 equal-sized bars. Store the Halloween Rice Krispie Treats in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Tips:

  • Storage: These treats are best when enjoyed the same day, but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Do NOT refrigerate.
  • Variations:
    • Substitute Rice Krispies with other cereals, like Cocoa Krispies, Cocoa Pebbles, or even Corn Flakes.
    • Use any color or variety of M&Ms! I used the Ghoul’s Mix Milk Chocolate M&M’s.
    • Instead or along with mini pretzel twists, you can use pretzel sticks, snaps, crisps, waffles. You can also opt to keep the pretzels whole or break them into smaller pieces.
