These 3-ingredient Caramel Apple Pretzel Bites are a favorite fall treat in miniature form!
Caramel apples are one of my favorite treats to make in the fall, but they are definitely a lot of work. Not only are these Caramel Apple Pretzel Bites delicious, but you only need 3-ingredients - so you'll save SO much time and effort! These bites are the perfect size for snacking, which makes them convenient to share at parties and get-togethers. I think you'll have a pretty "sweet" fall now that you can whip these up anytime you are craving a caramel apple!
This Caramel Apple Pretzel Bites recipe couldn't be easier to make! You'll need just a few simple ingredients:
- Pretzels: You can use any shape of small pretzel. I used mini pretzel twists, but you can also use square pretzels, holiday-shaped pretzels.
- Rolos: these candies are the perfect size for these bites, and the chocolate coating adds some extra sweetness! You could also use baking caramels instead that are usually found in the candy or baking aisle.
- Apples: Because of their tartness, Granny Smith apples are the best for this recipe. However, you can use any apple you like!
- Lemon or Lime Juice - Fresh lemon or lime juice is best, but you can use bottled as well. The juice helps to keep the apples from turning brown as quickly.
- Toppings (optional): dress up the bites with additional toppings, like crushed toffee bits, nuts, or even sprinkles!
Core the apples and then cut them into small, bite-sized chunks. To keep them from browning, place them into a bowl of lemon or lime juice. Set the bowl aside.
Line a baking tray with parchment paper, and place the pretzels onto the tray about 1-2 inches apart. Next, place a Rolo candy in the center of each pretzel.
Bake the pretzels with the candies on top at 250º F for 3 minutes. This should be just long enough to just soften the candy, but not completely melt it. Keep a close eye on the candies so that they don't melt all the way or burn!
Once the pan has been removed from the oven, immediately press an apple piece into the center of each candy. They should be soft enough to hold the apple in place. If they feel too hard, they might need to go back into the oven for a minute or so.
If you want to add any additional toppings, now is the time to do it since the chocolate is still melty! You can add anything you'd like. Things like crushed toffee bits, nuts, or even sprinkles are great choices.

Place the Caramel Apple Pretzel Bites into the refrigerator to cool completely. I would recommend keeping them in for at least an hour. The bites are best served within 1-3 hours as an after-school snack, party treat, or just to enjoy on a beautiful fall day.
