This 4-ingredient Pink Hot Chocolate is a simple and sweet treat to make for parties and holidays!
There's nothing quite like a cup of hot chocolate on a cold day. If you're wanting to change things up a bit, make some Pink Hot Chocolate instead! It only requires 4 ingredients, which makes it such a simple and quick drink to make for Valentine's Day, birthday parties, or just to brighten things up on a chilly day. If you want to share some with a group, you can easily double, triple, or even quadruple the recipe!
To make a cup of this pink hot chocolate, you will need a few simple ingredients: milk, white chocolate, sweetened condensed milk, sprinkles, and your favorite hot chocolate toppings. You will also need a saucepan, whisk, and measuring cups and spoons.
Combine all of the ingredients according to the recipe (below) to make the pink hot chocolate. For best results, I would recommend using high-quality white chocolate chips to make this white hot chocolate. You can even use your favorite white chocolate candy bar or truffles!
Pink Hot Chocolate
Prep Time: 5 minCook Time: 10 min
Serves: 5
Ingredients:
- 4 cups whole milk
- 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
- Pinch of salt
- 12 oz white chocolate chips
- Pink or red food coloring
- Heart sprinkles
Directions:
- In a medium saucepan, combine milk, salt, and sweetened condensed milk. Stir over medium heat until the mixture is steamy. Be very careful not to boil!
- Turn down to a low heat and add white chocolate chips, a little bit at a time. Whisk the mixture until it becomes a smooth, creamy consistency.
- Remove from the heat and add pink or red food coloring until you get the desired color.
- Pour the pink hot chocolate into your favorite mugs, and top with whipped cream, marshmallows, and heart sprinkles. Enjoy immediately.
Storage: Hot chocolate is best enjoyed when served immediately, but can be reheated
Reheating: Reheat hot chocolate in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring in between to heat it through evenly. For larger batches, you can mix it all up in a slow cooker, and set it to "Keep Warm" when it has been completely mixed together.
Variations:
- Exchange white chocolate chips for milk or dark chocolate chips to make a traditional hot chocolate. Do NOT use cocoa powder. It makes the hot chocolate too grainy. It may be difficult to color this pink.
- For a dairy-free hot chocolate, swap out the milk for dairy-free alternatives; like oat milk or almond milk. The texture may be a little different, but it still tastes delicious!
- Add in some peppermint extract to make a peppermint pink hot chocolate!
