Snowman Bath Bombs

Make some Snowman Bath Bombs to warm you up this winter!

Snowman Bath Bombs

Looking for a way to warm up after a day out in the winter cold? I'd definitely recommend a nice, relaxing bath with these peppermint-scented Snowman Bath Bombs! You can find bath bombs almost anywhere these days, but they are actually a lot of fun to make and are easier than you'd think. They are great for both kids and adults alike, and make a fantastic gift idea or party favor.

To make your own Snowman Bath Bombs, you will need these supplies:

*Another option: you can use a bath bomb base kit instead of using separate powdered ingredients.

In a mixing bowlwhisk the baking soda, cornstarch, and citric acid together. If you want some extra shimmer, add in a little bit of white mica powder!

If you'd like your bath bombs to be scented, add your favorite essential oil or soap scent (I used peppermint) into the mixture, a few drops at a time. A little bit goes a long way! Blend it in with a whisk or spoon until fully incorporated.

Add a 1/2 teaspoon of sweet almond oil or melted coconut oil to the mixture and stir until combined. You want the mixture to be like damp sand and it needs to keep its shape when you squeeze it in your hand. If it seems too dry, add a little more oil until you get the right consistency.

Spoon the bath bomb mixture into a or silicone mold and pack it in with your fingers or the spoon. Keep in mind that a silicone mold is flexible, so hold one hand underneath each cavity so that they keep their rounded shape. If you press the mold down on a flat surface, the bath bombs will be flattened on the top.

If you want to make a complete ball, spoon the mixture into two halves of a bath bomb mold and overfill them both a little bit. Press the two halves together and twist to merge the two together.

While the bath bombs are still damp, they are very fragile. Let the bath bombs sit in the molds for at least 12 hours to harden completely. If you're in a hurry, you can place them in the freezer for 30 minutes.

Carefully remove the bath bombs from the mold and lay them flat-side down (unless you made a ball). If they seem damp at all, let them dry out for a little while longer.

Now it's time to transform the white bath bombs into happy little snowmen! Pour a little bit of alcohol into a small cup or bowl and grab a small paint brush. In another small cup, mix some of the alcohol with orange mica powder to a watercolor consistency. Carefully paint a triangle carrot nose in the center of the bath bombs. Rinse the brush out well in alcohol to clean the mica powder out of it.

Next, mix up some clean alcohol with black mica powder, and paint eyes and a "coal" dotted mouth on all of the snowmen with the paint brush.

Let the bath bombs dry completely. This can take anywhere from 10-30 minutes since the alcohol needs time to evaporate. Once dry, you will have a vibrant mica powder design left behind!

Now the bath bombs are ready to be used. To share as a gift or party favor, I would recommend putting a bath bomb or two in a clear cellophane bag and tie it closed with curly ribbon. Store the bath bombs in a container to use for bath time, and make sure they are kept away from any moisture. As always, I love to see your versions of these projects!
