Create a small piece of art using your favorite stamps and paint colors on a mini canvas!
Want to make some art, but feel a little overwhelmed at the thought of painting something large? Create your own tiny works of art using acrylic paint, stamps, foil, and a mini canvas! It's a quick way to make art, and it feels so satisfying when it's complete. When you are done with your artwork, you can put it on display, sell it, or give it away as a gift to friends and family. What are you waiting for? Let's get creating!!
To make your own Stamped Mini Canvas Art, you will need these supplies:
Grab a mini canvas and choose 2-3 paints from the same color shades or color family (warm colors, cool colors). Start painting small strokes one color on the canvas, and don't worry about making it perfect! Paint in different directions, and leave some parts of the canvas white. Layer the other colors on top in small strokes, but don't cover up the previous colors completely!
Once completed, let the painted canvas dry completely before moving on to the next steps.
Once dry, turn the canvas over and place a folded up paper towel into the open area. This will help to add some padding and stability to the center to make stamping the canvas a success.
Next, apply a thin layer of DecoFoil Liquid Adhesive to the parts of the canvas that you want to have foil. The adhesive goes on white, and turns clear when set. The set adhesive will still be tacky, but not wet.
Place a foil transfer sheet over the canvas, and rub over the adhesive well with a fingertip. Slowly peel the foil sheet away to reveal the shimmer on your project! If you missed a spot, you can cover the canvas again and press well to help the foil stick to the adhesive.
Hold the canvas up at different angles to see the foil shine in the light! I love how this frog canvas looks with the Parakeet Green Foil Transfer Sheet! Foiling is such a fun and simple way to add some extra cool effects to your projects.
There's a lot of fun options to make your art shimmer and shine with foil! Add adhesive inside a shape, like the heart and flower in the purple canvas, or fill in the lines of a rainbow*. Of like the frog canvas, apply a thin layer of adhesive using a fingertip for a gilded effect.
*To add different colors of foil to the rainbow, fill one line at a time with adhesive. Once the adhesive has set, apply one color of foil and peel it away. Fill the next line in with adhesive, let it set, and apply the next color of foil. Repeat until all of the lines of the rainbow have been covered in foil.
