Dress up your favorite drink with a handmade No-Sew Felt Cup Cozy!
To make your own No-Sew Felt Cup Cozy, you will need these supplies:
- Felt Cup Cozy Pattern (for personal use only)
- Kunin Felt
- Fabri-Fuse Adhesive
- Plastic Snaps (with Snap Pliers) or Adhesive Velcro
- Scissors
Trace the pattern (link in supply list) onto felt using a pencil or thin marker. Use sharp scissors and cut the felt pieces out. I would recommend using a neutral-colored felt for the cup cozy base, and selecting brighter colors for the hearts for a good contrast.
Arrange the felt hearts onto the cozy piece and glue them into place using a fabric adhesive, like Fabri-Fuse. Press the hearts down well - especially around the edges. Refer to the adhesive packaging for drying time.
To make the cozy hold in place around your cup, you'll need some kind of fastener. The quickest (and easiest) way is to put a couple small pieces of adhesive velcro on each end of the cozy. I've never put snaps on anything, so I decided to give it a try with a plastic snap kit. It was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be, and I added two snaps so that I could adjust the size for a larger or smaller cup.
Now you can keep your hands at room temperature while you hold your favorite steaming hot (or icy cold) beverage wrapped in a handmade felt cup cozy! The cozy can be safely hand-washed if you get any spills on it. This is such a fun project to make, and would be even more fun to share as a gift with someone you love.
