Add some humor to your spring planters with this FREE and punny "You Grow Girl" Cut File!
Spring is just around the corner, which means it's time to start getting your garden decor ready to put on display. My plant-keeping skills aren't really the best, but I do have a knack for making their homes (aka planters) look pretty great by customizing it with vinyl! This "You Grow Girl" cut file is a punny design that I'm really excited about for spring, and is FREE for you to use! It would not only look good on your spring planters, but on shirts, home decor, and so much more!
Upload the "You Grow Girl" cut file into Design Space and size the image to fit your planter, shirt, or whatever base you are applying the design to. Make sure the entire design is selected, and click "Attach" in the bottom right menu to keep the design together when cutting. If you don't Attach, the pieces of the design will arrange themselves along the top of the mat instead.
*Here's a great tutorial on how to upload your own images into Cricut Design Space.
Cut the vinyl out using a Cricut Joy, Cricut Maker, or Cricut Explore Air 2 machine. If you are using HTV, be sure to mirror the design before cutting!
"Weed" the excess vinyl by removing all of the parts that don't belong in the design. I usually start by peeling away the outer edges first (starting at the corner), and then work my way around the design. Then I use weeding tools to help remove the smaller pieces of the design.
Apply the vinyl to your planter using transfer tape. If it's going to be outside, be sure to use permanent vinyl so that it will hold up against the weather. For applying the vinyl to clothing or other fabric decor, use HTV (iron-on vinyl) or glitter HTV (iron-on vinyl).
There are four different file types included in the download, so you should be able to cut it with any cutting machine, including a Cricut. If you're using Design Space, here's a tutorial on how to upload your own images so that you can easily create your projects.
**Cut files are for PERSONAL USE only**
As always, I would love to see the cut file in action! Share your creative creations on Instagram, Facebook, or leave a comment/photo on the project pin on Pinterest!
