Hemp Cord Wrapped Candles

Add a pop of color to your decor with Hemp Cord Wrapped Candles!

Hemp Cord Wrapped Candles

I love hitting up the dollar store to see what kind of decor and/or gifts I can create! These glass jar candles are a perfect item to dress up, and there are so many possibilities to do so. By simply wrapping colorful Hemptique hemp cord around the jars, I was able to take these candles up a notch in no time. These colors of cord are perfect for spring, and think they would be so cute on a shelf. They would also make a great housewarming gift to share with a friend!

To make your own dollar store Hemp Cord Wrapped Candles, you will need these supplies:

Hemp Cord Wrapped Candles

Cut three long lengths of hemp cord measuring about 15"-20" each. You don't need to measure it exactly. Wrap the cord around the back of the candle, cross the cords around the front and repeat the wrap 4-5 more times. Tie the ends into a secured knot on the front.

Thread the ends through a wood button and tie the ends together in a double knot. Trim the cord ends to 1/4" or so long. The first wrapped candle is complete! Isn't that so cute and simple?

Repeat this wrapping process using the Lemonade hemp cord on another candle.

Cut six strands of hemp cord measuring about 10"-12" long. Tape one side of the ends down or hold them down with something heavy, like a candle. Tie a knot near the ends, and then braid the cord all the way down. Wrap the braided cord around the candle a few times, and then tie the ends into a secured knot in the front. Trim the ends to complete.

Aren't these wrapped candles so fun? I love that Hemp cord is such an easy way to add texture and color to items like these plain candles! There are so many different ways that you could wrap cord to make them look different. It would also be a fun look to use multiple colors to go with a holiday theme, like red, white and green for Christmas, or different shades of green for St. Patrick's Day.

Wrapping candles is a quick and easy way to change your decor from season to season, or to add a pop of color to a room. Teens can easily do this to decorate their own spaces to add a personal touch. Another great idea is to make wrapped candles as a gift to share with someone else!

Cut a few lengths of hemp cord in each of the colors wrapped on the candles and tie the cords around the handle of a paper gift bag into a bow. Put the candles inside to complete the gift. It's such a simple and creative gift idea for a housewarming gift, a bridal shower, and so much more!
