Tell a friend how much they mean to you with this "Golden" Fry Box Gift Idea!
Sharing small, simple gifts with others is one of my favorite ways to express gratitude. I've been trying to come up with some new and creative gift ideas, and was inspired by this cute french fry-themed note from Sprinkle Kindness Lunch Notes. This "Golden" Fry Box Gift Idea is a unique way to give a simple "thank you" to someone who has impacted your life in a positive way. It's so simple to make and is an eye-catching gift that anyone would love to receive!
Download the Fry Box Template (personal use only). You can print the template out and use it to hand-cut the box pieces, or you can use the file to cut it using your favorite cutting machine. I used my Cricut Maker machine, so I will show you how I was able to cut the pieces out through Design Space.
Upload the Fry Box Template SVG (personal use only) into Design Space and resize the image if you want the box to be bigger/smaller - otherwise the image is a great size!
*Here's a great tutorial on how to upload your own images into Cricut Design Space.
Ungroup the image. The red piece will be cut out of a different paper than the outer box, so be sure to keep it separated! Select just the thin lines in the design and click the drop-down menu under "Operation" in the top menu. Change the lines to "Score" instead of "Draw". This will make sure that these lines will be scored, making it easier to fold, instead of being cut through.
Next, select the score lines and the gray box piece and click "Attach" in the bottom right menu to keep the pieces together when being cut. If you don't "Attach", the gray piece and the lines will arrange themselves randomly on the mat instead of where they should be. Click the green "Make It" button at the top right of the screen to move to the next step.
Make sure the gray mat is selected, and then change the material from the drop-down menu to Glitter Cardstock. Follow the instructions to load the Cricut Scoring Wheel or a Scoring Stylus into the Cricut Maker machine to add the score-lines done first. When prompted, load the Fine-Point Blade into the machine to cut the box template out.
Fold the outer box piece along all six scored lines with the glitter facing the outside. Apply some paper adhesive on the back of the separate box piece and place it on the inside of the box, with the top edges aligned. Hold the paper in place until the adhesive has set.
Apply some lines of adhesive on the inside of the side edges of the fry box. Fold the front and back panels of the box up so that it's standing, and bring the side panels together. Hold them in place while the adhesive sets. Apply more, if needed to make sure the box stays together. It should resemble an actual, yet extremely sparkly, fry box!
For a little extra "pop", I added a line of gold glitter tape around the box with the ends meeting in the back to keep it looking clean. Fill the box with any gold-wrapped candy. I my go-to is Hershey Nuggets because they are the perfect size and there's a flavor for everyone! Wrap the box with some cellophane to keep the candies from spilling out.
Last, but certainly not least, select the fry-themed tag from the Sprinkle Kindness Lunch Notes set to use as a gift tag. I like to write my message on the back of the note, and then add the tag to the gift box using ribbon.
