Color up some STEM fun with these Free Printable Penny Paper Spinners!
This month's Totally Free Printables theme is all about the printable crafts for kids! We've got 10 creative, fun, and FREE printables to keep kids busy. My contribution to the collection is Paper Spinners, and hope you have a ton of fun with it! All of the printables in this collection are a hit with kids of all ages, and I hope you enjoy them just as much as we did putting them together!
Download and print the paper spinner template on regular copy paper or cardstock. Color the patterns in with colored pencils, crayons, or markers. The more colorful, the better!
Use scissors to carefully cut both of the circles out by following the outer guidelines.
Use some paper adhesive to stick one of the circles down on a piece of cardstock, kraft board, or cardboard.
Carefully cut the glued circle out with scissors. Turn the paper over and glue the other colored paper circle onto the other side.
Use a craft knife or poke the end of the scissors through the guideline in the center of one of the circles. Be VERY careful so you don't cut yourself!! Adults should definitely complete this step for younger children.
Grab a penny and fit it into the cut line in the paper spinner. Push the penny halfway through so that the paper is sitting on the center of it.
Now for the fun! Hold the penny between your thumb and finger and make it spin like a top! It's so cool to see the colors blending at the edges while it spins. When you want to change things up, turn the paper spinner over and watch the other pattern spin.
Not only are paper spinners a lot of fun, but it's also a great STEM craft! Kids can learn first-hand all about force and motion while spinning their colorful paper spinners.
I hope you have a lot of fun making your own colorful paper spinners! As always, I would love to see your creations. Share your paper spinners on Instagram, Facebook, or leave a comment/photo on the project pin on Pinterest with the hashtag #afmcrafts!
