Make a colorful Candy Corn Treat Bowl to hold your favorite Halloween treats!
Halloween crafts are one of my favorites to create, and I am SO excited to finally share this one with you! If you're looking for a quick and fun Halloween project idea, this Candy Corn Treat Bowl is just what you need. It's the perfect size to keep on your desk to hold your favorite spooky snacks, or fill it to the top with goodies to give to friends or co-workers as a sweet Halloween surprise!
To make your own Halloween Candy Corn Treat Bowl, you will need these supplies:
- Ceramic Square Flowerpot
- FolkArt Multi-Surface Acrylic Paint - Yellow, White, Orange
- FolkArt Color Shift Acrylic Paint - Black
- FolkArt Glitterific Paint - Gold, Silver, Copper
- Paint Brush
- Spouncer Sponge
The flowerpot and base come attached, but if you pull them apart with a little bit of force (not too much), they will separate. Paint the base with a couple of coats of black acrylic paint. Instead of a plain black, I used Color Shift paint and absolutely love the metallic shimmer and the hints of gold mixed in with the black! Let the paint dry completely.
Turn the flowerpot upside-down and paint the bottom 1/3 with white Multi-Surface acrylic paint with a 1/2" - 3/4" paint brush. Be sure to let each coat of paint dry before adding another coat. The edge toward the middle section doesn't need to be perfect, so don't worry about using any painter's tape or stressing about making it straight.
Turn the flowerpot right-side up, and use the same paint brush to paint the top 1/3 with yellow Multi-Surface acrylic paint. You may need a couple of coats for better coverage, so just make sure that each coat is dry before adding a new one for best results. Again, don't worry about getting perfect or straight edges toward the middle section.
The Candy Corn Treat Bowl is certainly adorable as-is, but I think we can all agree that glitter makes everything better! Instead of using just one color, I decided to use Glitterific silver, copper, and gold to coordinate with white, orange, and yellow!
Glitterific contains multiple size glitter particles suspended in a crystal clear base, so you won't need to use any other sealant on your project or worry about glitter getting all over the place! It's two steps in one!
Scoop a small amount of silver Glitterific onto your paint brush and spread it evenly across the white painted section. Repeat the process with copper on top of the orange section, and gold over the yellow. Let the paint dry completely, and then place the bowl on the base. When you run your hands across the bowl, you will be able to feel that the surface is smooth, and that the glitter isn't going anywhere!
