I love keeping kits on-hand, just in case my daughter feels crafty and doesn't know where to start. For example, this Craft-Tastic Make Your Own Surprise Balls kit comes with everything you need to make 5 different surprise balls, including easy-to-follow instructions.
Being able to complete projects like this all on their own boosts self confidence and encourages kids to keep being creative. Soon enough, they will be making projects all on their own and teaching others to share their creativity!
One of the surprises you can add are these cute little note cards! Write a message or jokes to friends and fold it up to add to the surprise balls later.
Another fun surprise to add to the surprise balls is adorable charms for jewelry and backpacks! Simply peel and stick the coordinating puffy stickers back-to-back to make cute, silly, and fun charms of all different sizes.
My daughter has watched me make custom jewelry for years, so she was really excited to learn how to add jump rings to the charms she made all on her own!
Last, add lengths of colorful elastic cord to complete the bracelets, necklaces, and backpack charms!
Now that your surprises have been made, it's time to assemble the surprise balls! Place a bracelet or backpack charm and a note into one of the capsules.
Wrap the capsule up in colorful crepe paper. Add in more surprises as you wrap to make opening the surprise ball even more fun!
Add a sticker to hold the end of the crepe paper in place. There are so many fun patterns, shapes, and colors to choose from!
Wrap the ball again in a new color to decorate the surprise ball.
Once the ball is covered, use stickers and sparkly foam to transform the ball into an adorable creation!
Who wouldn't love to receive this little guy? My daughter can't wait to go put these on the doorsteps of her friends to share a smile!
There are instructions to replicate the different designs, or you can use the stickers to make your own design! My daughter especially loves dogs and cats, so she made her own little creation with the blue surprise ball! It was so fun to watch her do this project. Her confidence skyrocketed, and she's also excited about using these surprise balls to bring a smiles to others during this difficult time!
Who would you share a surprise ball with?
