Make your Va-LLAMA-ntine's Day extra special with Llama Valentine Treat Boxes!
Llamas are all the rage right now, so it's only natural that we would make some fun Llama Valentine Treat Boxes for my daughter to share at her Valentine's Day party this year. These Valentines were a "llama" fun to make, and we made a Llama Valentine Card Box to match! These matching Llama Valentine Boxes are definitely one-of-a-kind, and are sure to bring a smile to everyone's face this Valentine's Day.
To make your own Llama Valentine Treat Boxes, you will need these supplies:
- Cricut Maker or Cricut Explore machine
- Llama Valentine Treat Box Design Space Project
- Scoring Wheel or Scoring Stylus
- Cricut Pen - black
- Corrugated Cardboard - pink
- Cardstock - white, light pink
- Glitter Cardstock - black
- Craft Glue
Open up the Llama Valentine Treat Box project in Design Space. If you want to make it exactly how it is shown here in the tutorial, you can click "Make It" to take you directly to the cutting process. If you'd like to make adjustments, you need to click "Customize". Once in the canvas, you can easily make edits to colors and image sizes.
Cut the box piece out of white cardstock. You'll also need to use the Scoring Wheel or Scoring Stylus to make score lines on the box template. This will help you to get clean folds when you assemble the box. I also added a punny message of "Llama Be Your Valentine" for the Cricut to write in glitter gel pen on the box.
I used a mix of corrugated cardboard, cardstock and glitter cardstock for the llama's face, "hair", and ears. Glue the pieces of the llama's face on the box the same way as the Valentine card box. Easy, right?
After the face is glued on, the next step is assembling the box. Add some glue to the tab on the left side of the box. Bring the other side of the box around and place the tab underneath. Hold in place until the glue has set.
Fold in the bottom tabs and bottom end of the box. The opposite side of the box is blank, so you could use this space to add to/from names, or a personal message. You can add this on after the box is assembled, or even type it all in while you have the project open in Design Space.
Fill the boxes with Valentine surprises and close it up. Now they are ready to hand out to friends, family, and classmates!
