Mother's Day Bottle Cap Keychains are a creative craft for kids to make an awesome, custom keychain that moms, aunts, and grandmothers are sure to love!
As a mom, I think some of the best gifts you can receive are ones that kids make especially for you. With a little help, my daughter made me this sweet bottle cap keychain that I can take everywhere with me. These keychains are so simple and quick to make, and kids of all ages will have a ton of fun creating something special with their artwork.
Supplies Needed:
- Flat Bottle Cap
- Epoxy Sticker
- Keychain with Ring
- 1" Circle Craft Punch
- Clear Adhesive
- Ultra Fine Marker Pens
- Cardstock
Punch some 1 inch circles out of white cardstock using the circle craft punch. Cut more than you'll need. Once kids get started making different designs, they want to keep making more, or sometimes they make mistakes and just want to start over.
Now, for the fun part! Grab some ultra fine marker pens in a variety of colors. It doesn't matter what brand you use. You can see that we used a few different kinds! Encourage kids to draw things they think the recipient will love. Things like hearts, self-portraits, words or phrases are a great place to start!
After kids are done drawing, lay out all the designs they created and choose the one to make into a keychain. This is probably the hardest part of the entire process!! So many cute ones to choose from!
Carefully place the epoxy sticker over the drawing. Be careful not to touch the back of the sticker before you stick it to the paper, otherwise you'll get fingerprints that show through on the image. Use a vinyl scraper tool or credit card and rub the back of the paper to get any air bubbles out.
Once the glue has dried, the keychain is ready to use! I absolutely love my keychain and think it's such a fun and creative gift idea from kids for any occasion, especially Mother's Day!
Adorable! Thanks for joining!
