Use the Cricut to throw the perfect Buffalo Plaid Rustic Bridal Shower!
I'm so thrilled that my baby brother is about to get married to the most adorable girl! My sisters, mother and I had the honor of putting together a bridal shower for our new-to-be sister and wanted it to be extra special. The happy couple enjoy finding the beauty in simplicity, so we decided to design the bridal shower around a rustic theme including buffalo plaid, nature, and a bit of sparkle.
When it comes to throwing a bridal shower, the Cricut Explore Air 2 is a life saver to helping you get the job done. It cuts through all the paper, glitter cardstock, and vinyl quickly and accurately so we could create a party full of custom decor without spending all our time and money shopping!
I created a large banner to display over our food table. This "Miss to Mrs." banner is all made of red, black, and silver glitter cardstock and hooked together with twine. All you have to do to create your own is open up the banner design and you can easily type in any message you want in Design Space.
For our table centerpieces, we wanted to incorporate mason jars, twigs, and flowers. Instead of purchasing live flowers, I cut and rolled up Paper Roses out of red cardstock. They are easy to make and look so pretty!
To add a bit of sparkle, I also cut out some sparkly diamonds out of silver and rose gold glitter cardstock.
We wrapped some twine around the top of the mason jar, then added sticks. I used my glue gun to attach some of the roses. Then, I just slid the diamonds onto the sticks. We found some buffalo plaid placemats for the center of the table and placed the jars on top with a few loose roses scattered around! I love how beautifully simple they are!
I also cut a bunch of hearts out of cardstock to scatter around the centerpieces so that all of the guests could write down some creative ideas to add to the Date Night Jar! This metallic jar was just sitting around begging to be used for something. So I wrapped some red and black Duck Tape around it, then cut out the pieces for the label. Now the happy couple has a bunch of fun ideas from family and friends when they want to plan a night out!
We also got the bride-to-be a sparkling new KitchenAid! We decided to make it the centerpiece of the food table and wanted to tie it in to the rest of the decor. So, we got some larger branches and attached larger roses and diamonds as well as some berries for color.
A party just isn't a party without food, right?! The weather was cold and we wanted everyone to be comfortable, so we served some delicious, comforting chicken noodle soup and chili. I made some labels for the soups using the cardstock and the Cricut writing tool. I used a thicker black pen to do the writing for me and it worked great!
We made a special area for the gifts, and used the same banner design but added some rings to it for a bit of sparkle. We also found the perfect buffalo plaid basket and bag to put our gifts together in!!
Since the shower was already filled with love, I designed some tags to go on our S'more Trail Mix bridal shower favors so they could take "S'more love for later"! With the Cricut, you can print and cut all kinds of designs like this!
Our Buffalo Plaid Rustic Bridal Shower was a huge success and it was a lot of fun for me to try some new projects with my Cricut Explore Air 2. I can't wait to share more ideas as the wedding day gets closer!
