Now that school is out, it's time for playing in the pool, camping, and lots of other activities! Even though the kids are free from school for the next few months, that doesn't mean that they need to stop reading and learning. Reading every day is a great way to help your kids keep their imaginations going through the summer break, and this free printable bingo is meant to help make it more fun!!
This free printable summer bingo is a great way for your kids to earn rewards and to get their reading in for the day in a fun way! Mark how many minutes your child needs to read in the space at the bottom. Then. when your child read as listed in one of the squares and they can mark it off. When they get bingo, they can earn a reward like a trip to the library, a small treat, or whatever you both decide on. When their card is filled up (a "blackout"), they can earn something larger like a new book or out to get ice cream!
If you want to create your own ways to read , I also created a blank bingo sheet! This is great because you can easily make different reading options for smaller children who aren't reading on their own or need a little help, but still want to participate and earn rewards. This also helps them get in the habit of reading as they get older!

What a great idea! My daughter can't read yet but I'm keeping this for the future! Thanks for sharing this awesome idea at Bloggers brags Pinterest party! I've pinned it to our board.
ReplyDeleteOkay, this is an amazing way to encourage reading. Reading is very important to me, and instilling a love of reading is primary in my goals for my children. Thanks for sharing this as a free printable. This will be fun to use when summer reading program starts up as a way to keep track of what they read.
ReplyDeleteThis would fit perfectly with my Littles Learning Link Up. It is a weekly post filled with craft and activity ideas, tips, guest posts, and round ups all revolving around young children (infant through young elementary). I invite you to stop by and share.
