Make Easter even sweeter by helping the kids make Easter Jelly Bean Necklaces!

I'm always looking for fun Easter activities to keep the kids busy until the egg hunt begins. When my daughter was little, we started a tradition of making Easter Jelly Bean Necklaces, and she has loved making them year after year since then. When we get together with family for our annual Easter party, it's been so fun to make them for the kids as a surprise when they were little, and then making them all together as they've gotten older. This is such a fun activity for kids of all ages, and I hope you have as much fun making jelly bean necklaces together as we have!

To make Easter Jelly Bean Necklaces, you will need these supplies:
- Elastic Bracelet Cord
- Large Craft Needle or Large Blunt Needle
- Scissors
- Jelly Beans - any kind will work!
- Plastic Easter Eggs

Cut a length of cord to make a necklace (I cut mine about 10 inches). Thread one end through the eye of a large needle. Larger craft needles are easier to work with, and I definitely recommend using a blunt needle when crafting with kids so there aren't any accidents!

Next, carefully push the needle through the center of a jelly bean. Pull the needle through to string the jelly bean onto the cord. This process should be fairly simple for most kids, but younger ones may need help, unless you poke holes in the jelly beans beforehand.
As you string the jelly beans, the needle and cord will get pretty sticky. Keep a wet cloth, paper towel, or baby wipe nearby to wipe the needle clean as you go.

String as many jelly beans as you want onto one side of the necklace (I added 10), and the add the Easter egg. Most plastic eggs have holes in the top and bottom pieces. Open the egg and thread the needle and cord through those holes.

For more Easter fun, I highly recommend opening the eggs and adding more surprises inside! I originally made these necklaces to gift to my nieces and nephews at our Easter party, so it was awesome to see the looks on their faces when they opened them up to find small toys and treats.
