For our big family Mother's Day dinner, my Grandma asked me to bring some treats that would be fun and easy for the kids to eat. I was able to ge a bunch of Toll House cookie dough for $1 a package and knew this would be the perfect treat!! These are SO easy and everyone (even the adults) loved them!!
I wanted to do something more fun than a plain sugar cookie. Usually I make snickerdoodles, but instead of cinnamon & sugar, I wanted to try rolling the dough in SpRiNkLeS!
I used a 2 oz bottle of nonpareils sprinkles and one package of sugar cookie dough - that's it!! Easy peasy. You can use any kind of sprinkles, but I think the regular jimmy sprinkles taste like crayons...
Separate the squares (or you can certainly use your own homemade dough) and roll into a ball about the size of a donut hole. Then drop it into the bowl of sprinkles and cover the dough with as little or as many sprinkles as you want. I wanted these extra colorful so I completely covered them. The entire bottle of sprinkles completely covered about 22 cookies.
Towards the end when the sprinkles were low, I left the dough in squares and just covered the tops and sides of the cookies. They came out about the same, and in the long run it might make the sprinkles cover more cookies. Just FYI.
I baked them at 325º for about 14 minutes and they seemed to come out perfectly!
Make sure you separate some for yourself and possibly hide them - they run out fast!
Those look Yummy! Visiting from the WhipperBerry Party!
